Self Care Saturday

Sup Muses?

museologie is not just wellness education- it’s about creating community through the lens of wellness. On November 9th I hosted my first event that had nothing to do with fitness (yay!) It was a mix of DIY face masks, good music and having real + genuine conversations. I used the Clarity card deck from Girls Gone Happy to help facilitate a discussion on the future and wandering. The goal was to create an environment where people could unwind, relax, and enjoy themselves, but also feel comfortable sharing and speaking to folks they just met about some real ish. The take home message: take care of yourself in the midst of busyness; don’t neglect you. Self-care doesn’t need to look cute or be expensive, it means you taking the time to (unapologetically) put yourself first by doing things that bring you joy and help you reset whatever that may be (healthy ways, of course.) Self care means asking yourself hard questions and putting in work to assess your life and then making the changes to become a better version of yourself.

I brought together some of my good friends from different walks of life who I vibe with and am grateful for their presence in my life. I figured, maybe if I bring together these folks in a relaxing and uplifting atmosphere, they can connect not only in the moment, but in the future, too. We did some journaling, so everyone was provided a journal, and my mother created an essential oil blend for everyone, as well. Oils included orange, lavender and ylang ylang. That specific blend helps: relax, reduce anxiety, uplifts, and calms. (My mother is an aromatherapist certificate candidate—The Essential Muse: Oils to Inspire.)

These Self Care events will shift as they grow and expand, as especially as museologie starts partnering and flourishing. Expect me to host one at the top of the new year that’s open to more folks and they will continue throughout the year. You can find information on the events page above, future newsletters or instagram.

Enjoy & take care of yourselves, especially this holiday season!
